Compensation: $115,000 - $145,000 + bonus

About the Company
Our client is a food manufacturer with a production facility in Cumming, Georgia. Relocation assistance is available.
The Role
You will work closely with business partners and cross-functional teams to understand automation and equipment needs and turn them into delivered projects. As the authority on project management for equipment automation, you take on the most complex capital projects from concept through installation. The role involves travel to other locations about 50% of the time.
What You Will Do
- Develop preliminary designs and specifications for engineering and materials, and prepare project cost estimates.
- Conduct research, feasibility and economic studies so designs are viable and cost-effective.
- Set design criteria based on required standards and codes, validate field work and create as-built drawings.
- Review engineering projects for accuracy and soundness, and manage execution by guiding vendors and contractors.
- Coordinate project schedules with plant personnel, vendors and contractors.
- Direct equipment vendors on layouts, utility requirements and installation schedules.
- Define scope of work, prepare requests for proposals and evaluate the proposals received.
- Handle contract administration, including reviewing bid packages for compliance and completeness.
- Prepare justifications, budget analyses, calculations, plans and schedules, and report progress to management on deadline.
- Monitor installations against specifications and budget, and manage assigned budgets.
- Maintain project documentation: equipment manuals, mechanical and electrical drawings, parts lists, specifications and vendor contacts.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ years in a leadership position, including team development and management
- Knowledge of engineering principles and techniques related to food processing and the meat industry
- Experience managing multi-million dollar projects with large scopes
- Project management, contract administration, and national codes and standards interpretation skills
- Knowledge of installation and construction project scheduling
- Proficiency in engineering economics, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Willingness to travel to other locations about 50% of the time
- Strong communication, planning and analytical skills
