SALES ENGINEER - WI, IL, MN

Wisconsin, Illinois & Minnesota | Remote, Home-Based | Approximately 60% Territory Travel

Territory ownership: Develop new accounts, grow existing relationships, and manage opportunities from qualification through negotiation.

Technical selling: Connect customer requirements with Astrodyne TDI products, capabilities, and value proposition.

Customer visibility: Serve as the face of Astrodyne TDI and provide both commercial and technical support.

Cross-functional influence: Partner with Product Marketing, Engineering, and the regional Field Applications Engineer to develop solutions and proposals.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Astrodyne TDI is seeking a Sales Engineer to increase sales and customer engagement across Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota. The Sales Engineer will establish and maintain direct relationships with target accounts, provide commercial and technical support, and identify opportunities for Filter, Transformer, and standard Power products. As the primary customer-facing representative, this individual will negotiate on behalf of the company within established authority and represent Astrodyne TDI’s interests. The role is home-office based within the assigned region and requires approximately 60% weekly travel within the territory, plus approximately 5% travel outside the region as business needs arise.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

  • Achieve budgeted sales objectives and targeted new-account acquisition goals.
  • Establish and strengthen professional relationships with engineering and commercial contacts at target accounts.
  • Work with customers on design opportunities and recurring-program requirements to position Astrodyne TDI and communicate its value proposition.
  • Prepare, recommend, and negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions for quotations, RFQs, blanket agreements, and contracts for management approval.
  • Partner with Product Marketing and Engineering to create proposals and RFP/RFQ responses that address customer requirements and present Astrodyne TDI solutions.
  • Collaborate with the regional Field Applications Engineer on complex technical opportunities.
  • Proactively manage customer satisfaction across the existing account base.
  • Qualify, manage, and advance sales leads and prospective opportunities.
  • Coordinate the resolution of customer concerns, complaints, and corrective actions.
  • Attend trade shows and industry events to identify and engage prospective customers.
  • Follow up on sample requests and digital leads from new and existing accounts.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity and contact information in Salesforce.

WHAT YOU BRING - REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with EMI and power electronics.
  • Consultative selling skills and the ability to recommend solutions that address customer requirements.
  • Ability to influence and engage internal teams to develop customer solutions and drive revenue growth.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant territory sales experience with an established network of contacts in industrial, medical, aerospace, and military markets.
  • Customer-focused approach, persistence, and strong opportunity-management skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively to customer and prospective-customer locations to develop new business.
  • Ability to work effectively from a home office within Wisconsin, Illinois, or Minnesota.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Previous sales experience with EMI filters, transformers, power supplies, or related electronic products.
  • Experience developing technical proposals and responding to RFPs and RFQs.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a comparable customer relationship management system.
  • Established relationships within relevant industrial, medical, aerospace, or defense markets across Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota.

SALARY RANGE & BENEFITS

$70,000-$90,000 annually. Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, qualifications, territory knowledge, and other business considerations.
