Surmodics is dedicated to solving the most pressing challenges faced by its customers in the medical device and in vitro diagnostics industries. Recognizing the critical need for enhanced device performance and functionality, Surmodics provides a comprehensive suite of advanced technologies. For medical device manufacturers, the challenge often lies in creating devices that are not only effective but also safe and easy for clinicians to use. Surmodics addresses this by offering best-in-class coating solutions, including lubricious, hemocompatible, and drug-delivery coatings. These technologies are crucial for improving the access, deliverability, and predictable deployment of intravascular devices. A key innovation is the patented PhotoLink® technology, which creates a covalent bond to device substrates, offering a superior approach to surface modification. This means customers can develop safer and more effective devices, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes and faster commercialization of their products. In the in vitro diagnostics space, customers require components that ensure the sensitivity, reproducibility, and robustness of their assays. Surmodics meets this need by providing a portfolio of high-quality protein stabilization reagents, colorimetric and chemiluminescent substrates, and other critical assay components. By offering these solutions, Surmodics helps diagnostic assay developers create new tests or enhance the functionality of existing ones. The company acts as a collaborative strategic partner, offering responsive, knowledgeable support that functions as an extension of the customer's own team. This partnership approach, combined with over 40 years of experience, allows Surmodics to help its customers navigate the complex journey from concept to commercialization, improve the detection and treatment of disease, and ultimately uphold the highest standards of quality in healthcare.
