Job description

A BIT ABOUT YOUAs a snow removal operator passionate about your work, you’re eager to take your skills to the next level and make an impact in a growing company. Confident, independent, and motivated to drive continuous improvement, you work to build and follow processes that deliver high-quality results. You’re a natural team player – collaborative, approachable, and skilled at detailed work. You give thoughtful, clear, and concise direction, committed to helping those around you succeed. And you’re excited to help lead a team that’s committed to doing work everyone can be proud of. A BIT ABOUT USWe like plants, people, and beautiful spaces. John Mulhall came to Omaha in 1953 to landscape, and now, three generations later, we’re as committed as we’ve ever been to making Omaha a more beautiful place to live. Today we’re a team of a few hundred people, but our focus remains the same: working together to engage our community and share our passion for the beauty of the natural world. And we have fun doing it. A DAY IN THE LIFEAs a Snow + Ice Area Manager, you’ll report to our Snow Command in our Greater Omaha Landscape Management Branch. Most hours will be during a snowstorm, but meetings and preparation will happen days, if not weeks, in advance. Once snow starts falling, you’ll monitor the radar, communicate with the Snow + Ice team, and help make decisions and plans of action. You’ll help lead and support our field team, keeping focus on our vision to be the most loved commercial landscaping company in the Midwest. YOUR IMPACT
  • Lead and develop a large team – 10 to 20 people – model what it means to be a manager in line with our Purpose, Vision, and Core Values, working in collaboration with three to five Site Managers
  • Champion a safety-first culture by modeling safe behaviors, reinforcing safety standards, and ensuring every team member returns home safely after every storm
  • Drive operational excellence by coordinating people, equipment, and resources to deliver safe, high-quality snow and ice management services
  • Maintain clean, timely documentation, approve labor and materials, and support efficient project tracking in our core software
  • Own your sites by monitoring work quality, resolving issues in real time, and communicating progress
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • 3+ years of Snow + Ice removal experience, preferred
  • 3+ years of safe driving experience
  • A steady leader who anticipates problems and ensures the job is always done right
  • The ability to independently coordinate the activities of multiple Snow removal properties
  • Experience in leading a team in Snow + Ice removal, landscape, property management, custodial service, or other similar spaces
  • Experience in heavy machinery (skid steers and payloaders with push boxes and buckets for both, truck plows and salt spreaders), preferred
  • Spanish and English language skills, preferred
WHAT WE OFFER
  • An inclusive, passionate, and fun work environment
  • Competitive pay and the opportunity to be a member of our Landscape team
  • Great potential for personal and professional growth
  • An amazing discount on all the plants and plant things you love
