Windows Systems Engineer
Job description
You will manage Windows servers, core services, virtualization, storage, security, compliance, and system documentation. You will troubleshoot advanced issues, optimize performance, maintain backups and patches, and lead infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage, configure, and maintain Windows server environments
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
- Monitor and optimize system performance, uptime, and reliability
- Perform system updates, patches, and backups
- Perform STIG checking and systems-compliance work
- Implement and support VMware virtualized environments
- Manage Windows storage solutions
- Implement Windows security best practices and ensure policy compliance
- Provide advanced Windows systems support and troubleshooting
- Lead or participate in Windows infrastructure projects
- Create and maintain system configurations, processes, and procedure documentation
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least five years of Windows systems engineering and administration experience, or equivalent education and experience
- Active DOE Q, DOD Top Secret, or DOD TS/SCI clearance
- Expertise managing Windows server environments, Active Directory, DNS, and core services
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technology
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy clearance
- Ability to pass pre-placement and ongoing random drug testing
