Job description
The Social Media Coordinator will support the development and execution of the social media and content marketing strategy for Dial-a-Bed and MojoBeds. The role is responsible for the day-to-day management of the brands’ social media channels, including content planning, community management, content creation, influencer coordination, campaign execution and performance reporting. The ideal candidate is digitally savvy, highly creative, commercially minded and passionate about social media, content and retail. Candidate should have a strong understanding of social media trends and platforms, while being able to translate brand and business objectives into engaging content that drives awareness, engagement and ultimately sales.
- Support the development and execution of the social media strategy for Dial-a-Bed and MojoBeds.
- Manage and maintain the brands’ social media platforms, ensuring consistent and engaging communication.
- Drive initiatives to grow the brands’ social presence, following and engagement.
- Develop and execute engaging social media and content plans aligned to brand and campaign objectives.
- Create and coordinate relevant content across social media platforms, including short-form video, Reels and TikTok.
- Ensure all content is aligned to brand guidelines and tone of voice.
- Manage day-to-day community engagement across all social media platforms.
- Monitor and respond to customer comments, queries and messages in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Monitor customer sentiment and identify relevant insights and opportunities.
- Support the execution of social media campaigns in line with broader marketing and retail objectives.
- Manage and coordinate influencer and content creator activity.
- Identify opportunities to leverage social trends, influencers and relevant partnerships to drive brand awareness and engagement.
- Support the implementation and optimisation of paid social media campaigns, primarily across Meta.
- Monitor social media performance and provide insights and recommendations to improve engagement, reach and overall campaign effectiveness.
- Stay up to date with social media trends, platform developments, consumer behaviour and competitor activity.
- Use social media insights and analytics to inform content and campaign decisions.
- Collaborate with the wider Marketing, Creative and E-commerce teams to ensure social media activity supports broader business objectives.
- Matric certificate (Grade 12)
- Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing or Business-related tertiary qualification
Experience:
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in social media marketing/content marketing
- Experience managing social media platforms for a consumer-facing or retail brand
- Experience with Meta Business Suite and Meta Ads Manager
- Experience with Brandwatch or similar social listening/community management platforms
- Experience with social media scheduling and publishing tools
- Experience in community management and customer engagement
- Experience working with influencers and content creators
- Experience developing and executing social media campaigns
- Retail digital marketing experience advantageous
Skills
- Strong understanding of major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, Pinterest, LinkedIn and YouTube).
- Basic social media analytics and performance reporting skills.
- Strong copywriting and proofreading skills.
- Strong understanding of social media trends, formats and platform best practices.
- High level of digital fluency and confidence using technology, platforms and apps.
- Strong written, copywriting and verbal communication skills
- Commercially minded with strong strategic and analytical thinking
- Highly organized with excellent planning, time-management and attention-to-detail skills
