Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant Consultant II to join our Benefits Accounting team. The Accountant Consultant will be responsible for executing the day to day activities of the team they are assigned to within the department. The Senior Accountant is expected to manage their assignments based on prioritization and direction and raise issues as appropriate. This role involves managing complex accounting tasks, analyzing financial data, and supporting departmental initiatives with a focus on benefit programs. The Accountant Consultant II is expected to work independently, prioritize assignments effectively, and escalate issues as appropriate. Compared to an Accountant, this role encompasses a broader scope of responsibilities and requires a deeper understanding of accounting processes, benefits-related financial reporting, and supporting technologies.Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively within the team and across the department
- Implementing, reporting, and communicating the impact of business and accounting related initiatives on assigned processes and financial statements
- Participating in and initiating process improvement projects
- Preparing analytical schedules, analyzing variances, and providing analytical support based on individual review and internal customer requests
- Preparing quarterly/annual statutory and/or GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles), financial reporting, and complex accounting processes. financial statements and schedules/exhibits
- Preparing and analyzing account reconciliations, including for complex accounting processes
- Monthly close and related processing and development and preparation of analysis (e.g. account analysis, preparation of journal entries)
Experience:
- 2 or more years of experience (Preferred)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This job does not have supervisory duties.

Compensation offered for this role is $50,000.00 - 82,542.50 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
