The Administrative/Paralegal Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support for as private practice. The office also manages a small team of attorneys for indigent clients. The Administrative/Paralegal Assistant will manage daily office operations, schedule meetings, coordinate and provide general administrative support.
Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to):
1. Answers phones and greets clients in a professional manner.
2. Schedules meetings and appointments.
3. Creates and maintains filing systems and databases.
4. Prepares subpoenas, general correspondence, and forms.
5. Assists with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, emailing, etc.
6. Handles incoming and outgoing mail.
7. Organizes office supplies and materials.
8. Follows daily work schedules and communicates work that was not completed.
9. Consistently demonstrates professional and positive attitude.
10. Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, required. Paralegal/Legal Assistant certification from an accredited institution, preferred. Notary Public or the ability to become one within three months, preferred.
Experience:
At least two (2) years of administrative experience required . Preferred experience in a legal or professional office setting.
Skills/Other:
Ability to accept direction through oral or written instructions. Attention to detail and exceptional ability to organize large amounts of information. Demonstrated dependability, trustworthiness, the ability to work with minimal supervision and take the initiative in completing tasks. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to demonstrate proper use of equipment, i.e. multi-line phone system, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and printer/copying devices, etc. Ability to utilize technology, and work to maintain proficiency, as required skill sets change with technology and/or the needs of the office. Punctuality, staying on task, and good attendance are requirements for the position. Ability to work flexible work day and work week in order to meet the changing needs of the office. Demonstrated problem solving skills. Ability to exercise good judgment, professional integrity and follow office guidelines.

Our law office is located near the thriving downtown Flint, Michigan area.
