JOB DESCRIPTION
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The work involves assisting in the planning and development of aspects of a Community College's communication and recruitment plan. The incumbent, under direct supervision of the Director of Admissions, assists in coordinating the recruitment efforts of the Admission Counselors. The incumbent is also involved in special projects and assignments involving College recruitment. Has the ability to travel to recruitment events and is able to work evenings and occasional weekends, Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
- Assists with the Planning and Development of the college’s communication and outreach activities through:Maintaining Recruitment calendar for department in ERP.Create Recruitment events for public facing admissions events.Maintains information on college’s visit page on the external website for admissions.Manages the college’s tours schedule through approved bookings site for the college individual tours.Coordinates and facilitates group tours for the Office of Admissions: logistics, room reservations, presenters, transportation and guest confirmations.Manages student prospect inquiry throughinfo@ecc.eduemail and phones. Ensures all prospects are entered into the colleges ERP and followed up on.Assist with messaging to students through colleges texting platform.
- Maintains and deploys the Office of Admissions’ outreach and communication engagement plans.
- Assists in coordinating and participates in: Open Houses Events, Campus Tours, Info Sessions, Presentations and other related college activities.
- Liaisons special projects that recruit prospective students
- Coordinates the collection of prospective student information and ensures it gets inputted into the colleges ERP from internal and external sources
- Submits weekly recruitment activities report to the Director of Admissions
- Assesses Communication and Outreach activities for effectiveness
- Via the Director of Admissions, assists in coordinating recruitment efforts of the Admissions Counselors
- Under the supervision of the Director of Admissions and the Marketing and Communications Department, assist in developing brochures, pamphlets and other recruitment materials in relation to the College’s communication plans
- Assists with supervision and manages schedules of Student Ambassadors
- Can travel to external recruitment events and between SUNY Erie campuses and external partners (existing and potential)
- Assists with coordinating and supporting summer enrichment programs with intention to increase high school matriculation rates
- Performs related duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Good knowledge of recruitment and admissions procedures and practices at a community college; good knowledge of admissions, financial aid, and registration procedures; good knowledge of counseling practices and procedures; ability to work effectively with staff and students; sound professional judgment; initiative; resourcefulness, tact; physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited (2) two-year college with an associate degree and (3) three years of experience in educational recruitment, counseling, or related administrative duties.
