Callaway County Ambulance District is accepting applications for a Business Office Specialist. Are you an organized, detail-oriented professional with a background in accounting and medical billing? Callaway County EMS is seeking a dedicated Business Office Specialist to join our administrative team. Starting pay is $44,574 annually.
As a Business Office Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the District’s financial operations, including ambulance billing, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and customer service. This position also serves as a key point of contact for patients and insurance providers, ensuring accurate and timely processing of billing and payments.
Responsibilities
- Perform clerical and technical accounting duties in support of ambulance billing, payroll, accounts payable, and receivable.
- Assist with revenue collection, financial reporting, and daily bank deposits.
- Interact with patients, insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid regarding ambulance services.
- Maintain financial and billing records with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Provide outstanding customer service both in person and over the phone.
- Assist with collections, payment plans, and account maintenance.
- Support Board of Directors as Secretary if appointed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an office environment with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent time management abilities to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in calendar management to coordinate schedules efficiently.
- Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail in all written communications.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries professionally.
- Familiarity with clerical duties including filing, data entry, and document handling.
- Experience in office management or support roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical / ambulance billing duties is a plus but not required.
- Proficient in using computerized systems for various office functions.
