Job Background:

Citi Treasury Investments (CTI) operates within Corporate Treasury to lead the investment of Citi’s major liquidity portfolios and raise long and short-term debt and capital as well as the return of capital to shareholders through a share repurchase program.

This role will be situated in New York City.

Job Purpose:
The CTI Capital Markets (CTI CM) group is responsible for raising liquidity and capital on behalf of Citigroup, CBNA and other affiliates. In addition to these funding activities, CTI CM is also responsible for all aspect of the Firm’s share repurchase program. CTI CM oversees, strategically designs and executes funding actions across products that include structured notes, unsecured benchmark, credit card securitizations as well as CDs, Commercial Paper and FHLB advances. CTI CM is also responsible for the optimization of both the liability and capital stack through liability management actions. Additionally, CTI CM provides regular updates to Senior Management, Regulators as well as Fixed Income Investor Relations. The group is also responsible for presentations related to broader credit markets and structural initiatives for Regulators and Senior Management as well as various committees (ALCO, Capital Committee, Investments Meeting).

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversight of the Customer-Related (structured notes) borrowings program on behalf of Treasury: ~$130bn outstanding including analysis of complex structures, governance and pricing across multiple asset classes including Rates, Equities, Credit, FX, and Commodities
2. Lead the Share Repurchase strategy and governance
3. Guide a team of Treasury professionals in identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation in a well governed and controlled manner
4. Assist in the strategic design of the capital, funding and liquidity plan
5. Coordinate and collaborate with balance sheet and liquidity teams to provide analytics and input related to capital metrics and key liquidity ratios
6. Partner with various Structuring Teams to drive and execute new types of transactions, pricing based on liquidity characteristics, risks and impacts to the overall balance sheet
7. Prepare presentations related to funding and capital markets for Senior Management (CEO, CFO, Treasurer, and CIO) and Key Regulators (OCC, US Treasury, FDIC, and Federal Reserve Board of New York)

Qualifications:
Knowledge /Experience
  • 10+ years of Financial or related experience
  • Ability to find creative solutions to drive projects to completion across different stakeholders
  • A deep knowledge of fixed income valuation, derivatives, margin and hedge instruments including interest rate swaps, cross currency swaps and options
  • Clear and concise communication skills with the capability to simplify complex and technical material
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Systems management / project management skills
  • Python or Excel VBA programming skills a plus
