About The Position
The Director of Assessments is the operational lead for COPA’s assessment ecosystem. You’ll run the day-to-day of our objective testing experiences (including the COPA Score), co-lead Talent ID events, uphold gold-standard data practices, and ensure athletes and families receive timely, clear feedback tied to development goals. You will lead a team of assessment coordinators, refine SOPs, and make the experience consistent, welcoming, and world-class. Your efforts will directly support the development and opportunity creation for all athletes!

What You’ll Do
- Own assessment operations end-to-end: scheduling, staffing, station readiness/calibration, athlete flow, safety.
- Uphold data quality: accurate collection, validation, documentation, and on-time delivery of results/feedback.
- Co-lead Talent ID events: plan logistics, coordinate staff, and ensure protocols are followed at scale.
- Coach and develop the team: training, shadowing, standards, and continuous improvement.
- Standardize processes: maintain SOPs, checklists, and training materials across assessment types.
- Collaborate across teams: work with coaching, operations, membership, and marketing to align timelines and communication.
- Support in-house research & innovation pilots by operationalizing protocols and documenting learnings (as needed).
- Model clear athlete/family communication: manage and execute athlete follow up processes to promote development (retention) and engagement (conversion)
- Achieve revenue targets: by supporting the development (retention) and engagement (conversion) of all COPA Score participants
Sample Schedule:
- Sunday: 8am – 4:30pm
- Monday – Thursday: 11am-8pm / 9am-5pm
What You’ll Bring
- Strong command of objective testing; passion for talent identification and youth development.
- Proven ability to manage people and processes in a live, fast-paced environment.
- Detail orientation around data accuracy, equipment readiness, and safety protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to translate technical results into clear, athlete-friendly insights.
- Working weekday evenings and weekends
Nice To Haves:
- Degree in kinesiology, sports science, or coaching preferred. Advanced education preferred.
- 5+ years experience leading operations in sport performance, sports science, coaching, or comparable athlete-facing settings. Testing technology experience preferred. Data management preferred.
- 3+ Years experience with Talent Identification in the sport of soccer. Certificates preferred.
- Experience running large events or multi-station testing environments.
- Familiarity with data tools and CRM’s. HubSpot experience preferred.
- Experience in customer service or sales roles preferred, but not required.
