Local Hero is looking for a leader in sales as a Director, Business Development Marketplace. Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is effective operating as an individual contributor while also collaborating with the team.
As a Director, Business Development Marketplace, you will be charged with identifying, prospecting, closing and retaining both buyers and sellers that can add value to our current marketplace ecosystem. Ideally, these are direct relationships with trusted brands and companies in the industry. The goal is to be a leader in driving sales and revenue growth with your portfolio and ensure strong relationship management. The Director, Business Development Marketplace, will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
A Day in the Life
- Prospect potential advertisers and publishers to bring on to the Local Hero Marketplace
- Do warm and cold outreach to drive discovery calls and identify opportunities to partner
- Conduct sales pitches, demos and discovery calls
- Onboard new partners in collaboration of our Campaign Ops team including legal and campaign detail ticket creation
- Ensure successful onboarding through product and technology including managing troubleshooting issues
- Manage our clients to ensure success and ROI metrics through regularly scheduled account meetings (weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly)
- Attend relevant tradeshows and conferences to generate new business as well as maintain existing relationships

Local Hero is headquartered in Boulder, CO with teams working remotely. This position does not require candidates to live in the Boulder, CO region but does require living in one of the following states-
Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wyoming, Washington DC, and Puerto Rico

Here's what you need to get our attention
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 5-7+ years’ experience in Sales and/or Business Development roles within Performance Marketing
- Direct Sales along with relationship development experience and examples of proven network success
- Proven history of generating new business for an insurance marketplace
- Robust connections within insurance selling to Tier 1 buyers, Direct Publishers and can sell across marketplace products

- Excited to travel to conferences and visit clients- project at 10-20% of time.

Compensation: $90,000-$100,000/yr DOE plus a healthy commission earnings opportunity
