Special Education Vocational Classroom Instructor
Job Description
The Work Ready Vocational Adjustment Instructor helps students with disabilities learn and understand the expectations of successful employment. The trainer facilitates training curriculum in a high school classroom with various instructional approaches that explore topics such as Work Personality, Work Interests, Work Values, and Identification of Transferable skills. The curriculum also includes mastering soft skills for success in the areas of Communication, Enthusiasm and Attitude, Teamwork, Networking, Problem-solving, Critical Thinking, and Professionalism.
Class sizes vary but are generally between five and six students. Classes generally coincide with High School schedules.

Schedule & Pay
The schedules are 1-3 hours per day, 2-3 days per week, based on school schedules.
Opportunities include in-person and virtual classes.
The instructor will teach through a specific curriculum.
The teacher is paid for each student who completes each VAT course.
Pay comes out to roughly $500-800 per week, though pay does not occur until the student completes each course.
Qualifications
Completion of at least 60 college credit hours and a minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Classroom Experience.
Two 30-hour online credentialing courses are required before starting. Paid for by Work Ready. $500 bonus for completion of both courses.
Teaching certification is helpful.
