The Junior Estimator is responsible for assisting the estimating team on project costs for firm fixed pricing bids, proposals and change orders. The Junior Estimator will create new job folders, assemble bid documents and maintain updated files as well as do quantity takeoffs. Fundamental to this role is to be able to work independently as well as a team member and be eager to learn.
II. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
- College degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or other related field and/or equivalent years' industry experience.
III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review drawings, specifications and Addendums.
- Creating estimate folders.
- Performing Takeoffs
- Responsible for assisting the team in the estimating process.
- Soliciting and evaluating sub-contractor and vendor quotes and following up.
- Attend Walk-Thru to check field conditions & prepare estimates including takeoffs.
- Assist in maintaining project sub bidders contact list.
- Taking on other tasks from other team members.
IV. QUALIFICATIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Highly proficient in office suite products (Excel, Word & Outlook).
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Minimum 1 Year of relevant construction experience.
- Accubid experience a plus.
