The Legal Assistant/Paralegal (AOS) reports to the AOS Team Manager and works alongside other members of the AOS team to prepare and file cases for a variety of employment-based and family-based immigration applications and/or petitions, including but not limited to I-485 (Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status), I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative), and N-400 (Naturalization). These team members play a critical role in providing legal services for the firm’s clients by producing the forms and other documents needed to accurately complete cases for a high volume of individuals and companies. We are looking to add a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to our Santa Monica AOS team; remote applicants will be considered, with preference given to those located in Pacific Time Zone.
Legal Assistant/Paralegal (AOS) Responsibilities:
Undergoing specific, intensive training to develop a solid foundational understanding of immigration law
Drafting and organizing forms and documents as directed by the Team Manager
Helping to draft and send communication to clients alongside more senior team members
Assisting legal and administrative teams in requesting and organizing documents for new processes
Processing and organizing government correspondence, including receipt notices, approval notices, and requests for evidence
Entering data accurately and consistently into internal data management platforms
Working on other projects as directed by the Team Manager or attorney
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with strong academic record
1-2 years experience in a fast-paced law firm required- Immigration law experience preferred
Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills
Proven and effective writing ability
Strong organizational, process, and computer skills
