Job Description
The Market Risk Analyst – Capital Markets aggregates and evaluates complex risk exposures according to tolerance levels set by BOKF Board, executive management, and leadership committees. In carrying out the responsibilities of this position, the incumbent acts as an independent body to provide preventative and detective tools to mitigate risk, provide monitoring and oversight reporting to senior leadership and oversee resolution of out of tolerance positions.

How You'll Spend Your Time
- You’ll be crucial in creating and applying analytical models for independent valuation and risk evaluation of securities and derivatives, aiding decision-making, and risk management.
- You will analyze complex trading exposures and strategies, requiring critical thinking and a broad understanding to handle varied, out-of-tolerance situations across the Corporation.
- You will conduct intricate product evaluations necessitating advanced analytical, interpretive, and creative thinking in diverse scenarios.
- You will be responsible for creating daily reports detailing the status, market values of assets, and their performance relative to risk limits.
- You will work with the management and senior team to improve procedures and implement new technologies for efficient market risk assessment and detection of situations surpassing tolerance levels.
- You will propose modifications to procedures and systems to reduce risk and enhance reporting and supervision.
- You will collaborate with management and trading teams to recommend remediation plans for assigned positions that exceed set tolerance levels.
- You will actively collaborate with the trading teams to enhance your understanding of their operations, clientele, and tactics.
- You will have various interactions with trading desks that will include understanding of current market dynamics on Fixed Income products.
- Your responsibility will be to endorse, manage, and articulate risk management policies and practices within the Broker/Bank Dealer.
- You will be significantly collaborating with various business lines such as Risk Management, Corporate Treasury, Financial Accounting, and Internal Audit.
- You will use a consultative strategy to promote early identification and resolution of potential problems.
- You will conduct research on industry, financial services, and regulatory matters to enhance your knowledge, identify trends, and use this information to suggest alterations to existing protocols and procedures.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Knowledge of financial markets and instruments.
- Self-motivation, discipline, task focus, and a proven record of delivering high quality results within strict deadlines.
- Intellectual curiosity; superior problem-solving abilities and attention to detail; and prompt follow-through.
- Ability to aggregate and synthesize complex data from multiple sources.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively represent self and BOKF, as well as ability to present complex information and issues in a clear and concise manner.
Preferred:
- Awareness of risk methodologies (VaR, expected shortfall, stress testing)
- Experience writing code/internal tools using Python and SQL
- Experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI/Tableau/Spotfire)
