Job Title: Optical Receptionist

Position Overview
We are seeking a professional and patient-focused Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate has a background in customer service (2+ years), strong organizational skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Experience in an optical or medical setting is highly preferred. This role is key to creating a welcoming first impression for patients while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations at the front desk.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all patient communications: answer calls promptly, return missed calls, and oversee appointment confirmations, reschedules, and follow-ups.
- Greet patients warmly, assist with intake forms, referrals, and pre-testing, and deliver exceptional service throughout their visit.
- Collect patient information and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Verify insurance benefits accurately and support billing-related inquiries.
- Operate office and point-of-sale equipment, including phones, scanners, and printers.
- Maintain accurate records and patient communications through Weave and RevolutionEHR (or similar systems).
- Keep the front desk clean, organized, and welcoming while upholding professional appearance and hygiene standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; some college or additional training preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of customer service experience; optical or medical setting strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in insurance verification, computers, and office/point-of-sale equipment.
- Experience with Weave and RevolutionEHR (or similar platforms) required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.
