Payroll Tax Specialist Position
This position is full time, Monday-Friday (hours 9:00 am to 5:30 pm) - This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring both in-office and remote work at times. The specific schedule will be discussed during the interview process.
Job Summary:
Facilitate the accurate and timely filing of payments and returns for Primepoint clients. Assist in the resolution of problems arising from tax and agency related issues. Review and reconcile accounts to ensure the process is as error free as possible.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Verify and generate various tax and agency payments using agency web-sites and traditional paper methods.
- File quarterly and annual returns using agency websites and traditional paper methods.
- Review and reconcile new business historical tax returns to aid in the on-boarding process
- Interact with clients, accountants, federal and state agencies to resolve outstanding issues
- Generate correction forms and penalty payments, as needed
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Able to work independently and efficiently to meet client-driven deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (with a strong emphasis on Excel), web browsers, and all Primepoint's technology-related products.
- Able to promptly answer support-related email, phone calls and other electronic communications.
- Excellent communication (oral and written): interpersonal, organizational, and presentation.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
- Eagerness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with U.S. Payroll.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience reconciling and filing payroll tax returns.

This role requires experience ensuring that Primepoint and its clients meet all Federal, State, and Local tax reporting requirements. Qualified candidates will have tax filing experience, the ability to work under pressure, a strong analytical and solution-oriented mindset, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Prior payroll processing or accounting experience is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
Pay Range $60,000 - $90,000 annually with salary being commensurate with skills and experience. Primepoint offers benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance along with Vacation/PTO, 401(k), and other voluntary options.
