    Lake Forest School District 67 & 115 is seeking a 12 month/260 days, 40 hours/week Procurement Specialist at the Administrative Center.

    Description: The Procurement Specialist regularly and directly assists the Chief Operating Officer, Director of Fiscal Services, and Director of Business Operations, in a confidential capacity, the coordination of the procurement card program, and oversight of accounts payable. This position ensures that Business Office processes are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and District internal controls.

    Starting Rate: $33.65/hour, Non-Exempt under FLSA

    Qualifications:

    Education, Experience, and Licensure (required and preferred):
    • Bachelor's Degree with accounting coursework, preferred
    • Relevant experience and/or post-secondary training in business
    Competencies (knowledge, skills, and abilities):
    • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite, Google Workspace and school-based business management
    • Follow all Board of Education policies
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively – written and verbal

    Essential Functions:

    Procurement Card Process Responsibilities:
    • Setup and maintain procurement card holder accounts
    • Train individual card holders on procurement card processes
    • Review monthly procurement card expenditure reports for proper authorization and documentation
    • Complete monthly procurement card journal entries
    • Monitor procurement cards activity for fraud or misuse
    • Review and recommend purchasing parameters
    Accounts Payable Responsibilities:
    • Manage scheduling, communication, training, and other directives related to accounts payable
    • Review invoices and check requests prepared for payment by the Business Office Generalist and Business Office Specialist for the appropriate documentation and approval prior to processing checks
    • Assist and/or answer all employee or vendor inquiries related accounts payable.
    • Maintain master vendor listing
    • Make recommendations to the Director of Fiscal Services regarding the evaluation of the Business Office Generalist and Business Office Specialist
    Other Responsibilities:
    • Print and disburse purchase orders
    • Complete credit applications for potential vendors
    • Maintain vendors W-9
    • Prepare and file 1099 statements in accordance with IRS regulations and deadlines
    • Process tuition reimbursements
    • Perform other assignments as delegated by the Chief Operating Officer, Director of Fiscal Services, and/or Director of Business Operations

    Physical Demands & Work Environment:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel materials. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    In the work environment, the employee is regularly exposed to video display and regularly works in office environmental conditions. The employee occasionally works in the evenings or on weekends. The employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions and occasionally works with the use of a personal vehicle. The employee will have contact with the public which requires appropriate demeanor and apparel. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
