Job Description: After-School Dance Academy Teacher (TK-4th Grade)--Teacher can decide which ages to include in the class.
California International School, a STEAM-focused institution in Rocklin, California, is seeking an enthusiastic and creative educator to lead a weekly after-school dance academy for TK-4th grade students--class may or may not include all ages--instructor can decide what is best. The class will take place in our dance classroom providing an inspiring environment for learning dance.
Day/Time: Academies run once time per week (3:30-4:30) from the week of September 20th-the week of November 10th. The day of the week is flexible and can be determined around the teachers availbility.
Hours: Approx. 2.5 hours per week (1 hour of teaching and the 1.5 prep/set up/clean up)
Pay: $25-$30 per hour
Ideal Candidate:
This is an excellent opportunity for a college student studying dance or a person who has taken dance for many years---who is looking to gain teaching experience and earn extra income.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate dance lessons for our after school academy.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Supervise and ensure the safety of students during activities.
- Inspire young learners to explore and enjoy dance
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of dance; experience with young children (TK-4th grade) is a plus.
- Ability to design a dance class--type of class can be flexible, but ballet or tap would be ideal. This class will be taught on site at California International School in Rocklin, CA.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
