We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to support our procurement and supply chain operations. The Purchasing Specialist will work closely with suppliers, internal departments, and leadership to ensure cost-effective purchasing, maintain inventory control, and optimize vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Coordination – Assist in identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability. Obtain and compare quotations for optimal purchasing decisions.
- Purchase Order Management – Process purchase requisitions, generate Purchase Orders (POs), and confirm supplier orders to ensure clarity in pricing, lead times, and terms.
- Inventory & Supply Chain Control – Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and coordinate replenishment to prevent shortages or overstocking. Collaborate with logistics and warehousing teams to optimize inventory management.
- Vendor Relations & Negotiation – Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and ensure compliance with company policies. Conduct supplier performance reviews and address issues proactively.
- Quality Control & Claims Management – Ensure purchased materials meet required standards. Initiate claims for defective goods and coordinate replacements, returns, or credits.
- Budget & Cost Analysis – Track purchasing expenses, analyze costs against budget, and identify cost-saving opportunities through bulk purchases and supplier negotiations.
- Reporting & Compliance – Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase agreements, warranties, and supplier communications. Prepare reports on purchasing activities and cost trends for leadership review.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred – fields of study desired include but are not limited to: Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field. Candidates with 2+ years of procurement or purchasing experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
- Experience reading blueprints or CAD designs and ordering materials based on drawings preferred
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management preferred.
- Familiarity with construction, elevator, or manufacturing industries is a plus
- Proficiency with procurement software and inventory management systems is highly desirable.
- Experience with vendor negotiations and cost analysis is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Quickbooks
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with teams.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.
