Duties and Responsibilities:

Security Operations & Compliance:
- Supervise and manage security personnel, ensuring compliance with company policies and state cannabis regulations.
- Conduct routine security inspections to prevent theft, diversion, or unauthorized access to restricted areas.
- Monitor security systems, including cameras, access control, and alarm systems, responding promptly to incidents.
- Work closely with law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and company leadership to address security concerns.
- Ensure all security logs, incident reports, and compliance records are maintained accurately.
- Issue security access cards and maintain database or who has cards issued
- Cover as a security officer when coverage is needed or required without hesitation
- Work directly with Human Resources when requested to assist with sensitive employee issues or terminations
- Review and maintain camera footage for incident investigations
- Complete incident reports as needed/required and investigate security related incidents
Leadership & Team Supervision:
- Train and develop security team members, ensuring they understand security protocols, emergency response, and compliance requirements.
- Create and maintain security schedules, ensuring proper coverage at all times.
- Handle all payroll processing to include approving time off requests in correlation with scheduling/coverage
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to enhance security team effectiveness.
- In conjunction with the security manager, act as the main point of contact for security-related escalations, investigations, and policy enforcement.
Emergency Response & Risk Management
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for incidents such as theft, fire, or workplace violence.
- Conduct regular drills and training exercises to prepare team members for emergency situations.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify security vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for customers and team members by proactively identifying and addressing potential security risks.
- Provide guidance on conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
- Enforce company policies regarding identification verification and access control in compliance with state laws.
Effective Communication:
- Clearly communicate security issues to leadership at all levels.
- Manage professional relationships with leaders, regulators and inspectors to foster positive interactions and facilitate issue resolution.
- Provide clear and actionable recommendations to internal teams to support operational adherence.

This role also enters information into HRIS systems requiring hand dexterity and the ability visually verify correct information.

- Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- MUST BE ABLE to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with security technology, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and obtain necessary state security credentials.
- Proficiency in standard office software and packages to include Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, etc.
- High level of attention to detail to ensure accurate compliance documentation and reporting.
- Ability to identify compliance issues, analyze potential impacts, and implement effective solutions.
- Strong ethical standards and integrity to uphold compliance standards and foster a culture of transparency.
- Ability to collaborate with various teams, including regulatory agencies, internal departments, and external partners.
- Ability to adapt to changing regulations and industry standards, and to remain updated with current compliance trends and best practices.
Preferred:
- Experience in the cannabis industry, retail security, or high-risk security environments.
- Military, law enforcement, or corporate security background.
- Certifications in security management (e.g., CPP, PSP, or similar).
The Security Supervisor is responsible for supervising the security operations at Justice Grown/Bloc Dispensary facilities, ensuring the safety and security of team members, customers, products, and company assets. This role requires strong leadership, knowledge of compliance regulations, and the ability to supervise security personnel effectively while fostering a safe and professional environment.
