What the day will look like.
Core Responsibilities:
Portfolio and Investment Planning and Management
- Work with leadership to understand the business / function strategy and align current and proposed ABS enabling initiatives and investments accordingly. Collaborate with collaborators to ensure the portfolio of initiatives identified for execution are in line with strategy, investment guidelines and deliver business outcomes.
- Develop strong relationships with key partners / collaborators and peers, including TMOs.
- Evaluate the portfolio / road map and help develop plans for implementing the roadmap.
- Advise and oversee initiatives using established VRO stage gate processes from idea through discovery, business case approval, program delivery and value realization.
Value & Benefits Realization Management
- Partner with the relevant ABS Leadership Team members and business partners to establish key business outcomes, measures, key performance indicators and metrics to measure the impact, effectiveness and success of Aon Business Services enabling initiatives. This includes defining business targets, benefits realization processes to measure progress, and regular reporting on the achieved delivery, value, and benefits to collaborators.
Program Governance, Reporting & Assurance
- Lead portfolio governance meetings and drive leadership communication across the portfolio including:
- Support definition of program scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and partners.
- Ensure resource planning is done for all project work within the portfolio.
- Ensure programs are consistently governed, using defined progress reporting templates. Ensure full-scale program plans and associated communications documents are developed.
- Effectively set, communicate, and manage program expectations with team members and collaborators in a timely and clear fashion.
- Evaluate efficiency of program management team and offer transparency and address issue resolution when necessary.
Continuous Improvement & Change Management
- Analyze, recommend, and drive process and program improvements across portfolio and functional teams.
- (Guide & support communications, change management and collaborator alignment efforts (within the portfolio) and across ABS as needed.
- Document key learning and improvements to build knowledge base for the firm

Skills and experience that will lead to success.
- 10+ years of proven demonstrable experience with a strong background in portfolio management and governance. Proven track record to navigate complex organizational structures and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Robust blend of critical thinking, operational expertise, and a demonstrated record of accomplishment of driving measurable improvements across portfolios.
- Experience working with a multitude of partners, process owners, operations leaders, and end users on various projects.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication including public speaking, group presentation
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of business, technology and operations executives, managers, and subject matter authorities.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- The ability to form trusted partnerships with a posture that balances humility and confidence
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects / programs and meet deliverables.
- Ability to influence, negotiate conflict, and be persuasive in complex environments. Attention to detail.
- Ability to work across organizational boundaries and build bridges between adjacent regions, functions and capabilities Good analytical skills, and clarity of reporting on insights; Excellent pattern recognition and ability to “connect dots”
- Flexibility and responsiveness to changing business needs and demands.
- Proficient in use of MS Office, specifically Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Recognized and accredited professional project management training and certification (such as PMP, PfMP, PMI-ACP or equivalent) preferred but not required.

Pay Transparency Laws:
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $160k to $180k annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
