Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary clinic. This role requires a love for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Answer phone calls and respond to email and text inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
- Process payments and manage medical collections with professionalism.
- Assist veterinary staff with animal handling, restraint, and care as needed.
- Provide clients with information on animal husbandry, training, and general pet care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
Skills
- Proficient in veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
- Experience in animal handling and restraint to assist during examinations or treatments.
- Knowledge of animal care practices, including basic husbandry techniques.
- Familiarity with Covetrus Pulse or similar PIMS is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their pets, as well as strong communication skills to manage information flow amongst team, clients and other partners.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing records and appointments.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
