Role Overview

As the Assistant Front Office Manager, you will play an integral role in supporting the successful day-to-day operation of the Front Office department, creating memorable guest experiences while supporting and developing our Front Office associates.

Working closely with the Rooms Division Manager, you will lead by example on the floor, ensuring our service standards and procedures are consistently delivered. You will be a visible and approachable leader for both our guests and associates, confidently resolving guest concerns, supporting operational priorities and inspiring the team to deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Rooms Division Manager with the day-to-day operation of the Front Office department, ensuring seamless and engaging guest experiences
  • Lead and support Front Office associates during shifts, providing guidance, coaching and ongoing feedback. This includes fostering a positive and inclusive team culture where associates feel supported, valued and empowered.
  • Be a visible presence in the lobby and Front Office, anticipating guest needs and creating meaningful connections throughout their stay, while also handling guest enquiries, feedback and concerns with confidence, professionalism and genuine care.
  • Ensure hotel standards, policies and procedures are consistently maintained across Front Office operations
  • Assist with training, onboarding and development of Front Office associates
  • Champion Marriott Bonvoy, driving loyalty through personalised recognition and exceptional guest experiences
  • Work collaboratively with Housekeeping, Reservations, Engineering and other hotel departments to ensure seamless hotel operations
  • Support the Front Office Manager in achieving departmental goals relating to guest satisfaction, associate engagement and operational performance
  • Take responsibility for Front Office operations and hotel leadership requirements in the absence of senior Front Office leaders

About You

  • Previous Front Office experience within a hotel environment, with supervisory or leadership experience highly regarded
  • Experience with OPERA property management system or a similar hotel property management system
  • A genuine passion for creating exceptional guest experiences
  • A confident and engaging leadership style with the ability to motivate and support a diverse team
  • Ability to remain calm, professional and solutions-focused in a fast-paced environment, with strong communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, driven and energised with a hands-on approach to hotel operations
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays and a range of operational shifts
