Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Customer Account Manager, Strategic Accounts based in Canada.

This is a growth-focused strategic account role at the intersection of fintech, payments, and customer success. You will own and expand a portfolio of existing customers, including complex multi-entity and private-equity-backed organizations. Working with senior finance, accounting, and IT leaders, you will uncover opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen financial controls, and accelerate cash flow. The role combines consultative selling, executive relationship management, account strategy, and commercial ownership. You will collaborate closely with Customer Success Managers and cross-functional experts to deliver measurable customer outcomes and identify expansion opportunities. This is an opportunity to build long-term strategic relationships while helping customers advance their digital transformation journey.

Accountabilities

  • Own and grow a portfolio of existing strategic customers, including complex multi-entity accounts, by identifying opportunities to expand adoption of payments, accounts receivable automation, collaboration, and cash application solutions.
  • Partner closely with Customer Success Managers to develop coordinated account strategies and execute strategic plans that improve customer outcomes, strengthen relationships, and drive revenue growth.
  • Build trusted relationships with finance, accounting, and IT executives, as well as operating partners, managing directors, portfolio operations leaders, shared services leaders, and other stakeholders within private-equity-backed and holding-company environments.
  • Understand customer priorities, operational challenges, and transformation goals, positioning solutions that can reduce manual work, strengthen controls, improve efficiency, and accelerate the invoice-to-cash process.
  • Lead the commercial motion across assigned accounts, including opportunity identification, qualification, value articulation, proposal development, negotiation, and closing, while engaging senior finance and relevant sponsor or holding-company stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for sales-related activities throughout the expansion cycle, ensuring customers experience a coordinated and high-quality commercial process.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline visibility and forecasting, providing reliable updates to management and ensuring that opportunities, stakeholders, and next steps are clearly tracked.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Solutions Consulting, Implementation, and Customer Success teams to bring the right expertise and resources to each customer opportunity.
  • Act as a strategic advisor by sharing best practices, identifying inefficiencies, asking insightful questions, and recommending tailored solutions that create meaningful business value.
  • Take ownership of account growth opportunities, proactively addressing forecast gaps, moving opportunities forward, and maintaining strong execution discipline from initial discovery through final close.
  • Requirements

    • Bring 7+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience, including experience managing complex, multi-entity, mid-market, or private-equity-backed accounts and navigating stakeholders beyond the finance function.
    • Demonstrate a proven track record of managing and expanding existing customer accounts, with a strong focus on relationship building, retention, account growth, and long-term customer value.
    • Have excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and executive engagement skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex value propositions to senior decision-makers.
    • Demonstrate the ability to independently close complex mid-market deals without relying on executive sponsorship and to manage the full commercial cycle through final negotiation and close.
    • Bring a strong history of exceeding sales quotas and successfully closing deals with average selling prices of $50K or more.
    • Possess a consultative and commercially driven mindset, with the confidence to develop your own opportunities, challenge customer thinking, teach through commercial insight, and maintain control of the sales process.
    • Be curious, energetic, confident, and naturally motivated to understand customer challenges deeply and connect business problems with practical transformation opportunities.
    • Demonstrate strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, opportunities, internal teams, and moving priorities simultaneously.
    • Be highly process-oriented, with excellent pipeline hygiene, forecasting discipline, and attention to commercial details.
    • Show a strong bias toward action, taking ownership of challenges, developing practical plans, and consistently working to close gaps between forecast and results.
    • Have proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and sales engagement tools such as Salesloft, Outreach, or comparable platforms.
    • Benefits

      • Base salary of $115,000–$135,000 USD per year.
      • On-target earnings ranging from $190,000–$225,000 USD.
      • Remote working environment.
      • Opportunity to manage and grow a portfolio of strategic, high-value customer accounts.
      • Exposure to fintech, B2B payments, accounts receivable automation, and digital transformation.
      • Direct engagement with senior finance, accounting, IT, private equity, and portfolio operations stakeholders.
      • Strong cross-functional collaboration with Customer Success, Product, Marketing, Solutions Consulting, and Implementation teams.
      • Opportunity to drive measurable customer outcomes while developing strategic account management and consultative sales expertise.
      • Career growth in a fast-moving technology and fintech environment.
