As a FATAMORGANA Associate you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, exceeding customer expectations and ensuring that customers have a positive experience throughout our store. The Company’s mission is to promote the artisanal gelato culture produced according to Italian tradition with maximum attention to the selection of natural ingredients, without the addition of any semifinished industrial product or additive.

Additionally, as an Associate you will share product knowledge and enthusiasm with our customers by answering any questions, assisting with product suggestions, educating and exposing them to products of interest.

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing excellent customer service while demonstrating a passion for our food. Greeting customers and establishing eye contact.
• Responding positively to customers inquiries and assisting customers with purchases, information, and product selection.
• Speaking to customers in a respectful manner and maintain patients in addressing customer concerns.
• Scanning products, processing credit cards, cash handling and reporting. Providing quaility beverages and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
• Providing customers samples of our selection with a view to creating sales opportunities.
• Following health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Washing, cleaning, and preparing of fruit and vegetables according to food safety procedures.
• Cleaning and maintaining gelato display equipment, espresso machine, and general store facility. Be friendly, courteous, respectful of fellow team members.
• Have a positive attitude.
• Arrive to work on time and ready to work at the start of their shift.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrates ability to interact with public and coworkers in a friendly manner.
• Proven interest in food with particular interest in healthy, genuine products.
• Excellent hygiene and care of ones appearance.
• Requires ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform general job functions.
• Requires ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions as well as converse well with customers.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
• Sufficiant dextarity to operate kitchen utensils and a computer keyboard.
• Will involve long periods of standing/walking.
• Learn and maintain knowledge of FATAMORGANA Gelato products and procedures.
• Willingness to learn basic Italian language words.
• Willingness to operate in a remotely monitored environment (administration, logistics, video control).
• Willingness to wear FATAMORGANA uniform and cover or remove piercings, tattoos, necklaces that appear too invasive or such as to overwhelm the individual's appereance.
• Have California Food Handling Card

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $13.00 to $13.50 /hour
