Job Description

As a Producer for the Business, Technology & Media unit, you will be responsible for working closely with a correspondent to pitch, develop, and turn news of day pieces, in-depth interviews and feature stories for the key NBC News platforms including Today Show, Nightly News, digital and NBC News Now.

Job Duties

  • This position requires an experienced producer who has excellent editorial judgement, field experience, the ability to produce content for multiple platforms and works well with talent in a collaborative team environment

  • Produce original video and text content- including research, conducting interviews, writing and editing scripts, field producing and shooting, and overseeing editing

  • Producer is expected to pitch story ideas as well as work on assigned stories developed by the various editorial team

  • Willing to travel on short notice

  • Work with Standards & Legal Team to ensure Editorial Standards of all segments

Basic Qualifications
• Must have at least 3 years’ editorial experience working in production at the network level, preferably within news broadcasting
• Must be able to shoot and edit
• Must have strong journalistic writing skills, research skills, and editorial judgment
• Must be able to script and edit copy on very short deadline
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree
