Accounting Clerk – Part-Time
The Accounting Specialist position is an organized and dependable team player who pays attention to details. He/she takes responsibility for providing excellent accounting customer service, to both internal and external stakeholders. The position communicates across internal teams as well as external partners such as vendors and customers. Success in this position requires someone who learns quickly and can use tools of technology to remain organized and manage workload (ERP, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Office). The person in this role is very hands-on with most accounting clerical responsibilities and is versatile and flexible, willing and able to assist in other operational functions outside of the assigned accounting responsibilities.
This is a part-time role, working 25 hours per week. Our preference is 5 days a week, 5 hours per day but this configuration is negotiable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage incoming communications related to the accounting function (emails and phone calls)
- Enter incoming vendor invoices and customer payments into the ERP/Accounting system in a timely manner
- Process checks and ACH payments for vendor invoices and post cash receipts from customers in the ERP/Accounting system on a regular schedule
- Post vendor invoices to open Purchase Orders in the ERP/Accounting system
- Cross check and reconcile data in the Accounting system against invoice and payment remittance data to ensure accuracy of work
- Reconcile operating bank account on a weekly basis
- Perform GL account reconciliations of key accounts monthly
- Calculate foreign currency conversions for invoices as needed
- Cross train with partners in the Customer Service and Purchasing functions for ability to provide support to these teams as needed
Requirements:
- High School diploma required, additional training or education a plus.
- Five or more years’ experience preferred in an accounting clerical role with AP, AR and GL responsibilities.
- Outgoing, personable, reliable, and self-motivated; works well with others.
- Proficient with Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and TEAMS.
- Experience working with accounting software (ERP system); Traverse software experience is a plus, but not required
