The Accounts Payable Analyst will review and process exception-based invoices, statements, and payment requests in a timely manner while adhering to established guidelines. This position will resolve general ledger account discrepancies and respond to procedural inquiries, internal and external customer inquiries, ensure accurate record retention and accurate accounting entries.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for reconciling complex vendor invoices against open receipts, verifying pricing and quantities and following up on purchase price variances above the tolerance threshold.
- Research and resolve a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons in a timely manner in accordance with current standards.
- Monitor invoices in the company’s document management system and actively work to resolve older, unprocessed invoices.
- Communicate with AP Manager on any direct post invoices not entered in the company’s ERP by month-end cutoff and make suggestions where a purchase order should have been issued.
- Research and resolve a variety of routine internal and external inquires concerning account status.
- Communicate over the phone with internal and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner in accordance with current standards.
- Statement review and reconciliation.
- Perform back-up duties for other AP Analysts.
- Provide input, support, and research for AP projects as requested.
- Occasionally travel to plant locations to learn and collaborate on improvements in the procure to pay process.
- Actively work with the procurement team to reduce number of exception-based invoices.
Qualifications:
- High School Degree or Equivalent; Associate degree or Equivalent preferred
- 1-3 years of Accounts Payable or general accounting experience
- Exemplary communication skills. Must be willing to communicate over the phone and Microsoft Teams.
- Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments, work independently, and meet established deadlines.
- Motivated - takes initiative to answer new questions and solve problems independently.
- Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately.
- Open to change and willing to learn new skills.
- Must have intermediate Excel skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Teams.
- Ability to understand, develop, and refine/improve processes.

The starting annual base salary range for this position is between $55,000 to $65,000 USD. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to education, skill set and depth of experience.
