Position Summary:
AR Specialist’s primary function is to support AR Team in multiple areas including Cash Application, Soft Collections, Deduction Management, and PDP coordination.
Essential Job Functions:
- Cash Application to Customer Accounts
- Process credit card transactions as needed.
- Make soft collection calls on past due accounts as needed.
- Review customer orders on hold and take appropriate action.
- Run D&B Reports for establishment of credit limits as requested.
- Review and approve credit and debit requests to Customer Accounts.
- Assist in research and resolution of customer deductions as needed, which may include disputing claims on customer portals, or the processing of credit memo requests to clear valid deductions where applicable. This also includes investigating to determine if they are Professional Development Programs (PDP) and to work with account, rep or broker to obtain support for the deduction.
- Assist in entering the customer deductions in PDP system to assist the sales reps with tracking deductions.
- Assist in preparing PDP packets to circulate for approvals and for clearing deductions by entering into PDP system. Packets include backup/support for deduction and all required approvals for processing.
- Assist in analyzing PDP contracts to update spending for planning purposes. Close out prior year contracts and monitor current activity.
- Assist in running and distributing the PDP reports for various members of the Retail sales team.
- Identify common and recurring deduction issues and work with appropriate department(s) to resolve current deductions and prevent future occurrences.
- Ongoing process improvements focus, make recommendations and participate in implementation to improve efficiency and overall workflow.
- Keep management apprised of unusual or non-standard issues and escalate when appropriate.
- Work with accounting to assist with the review/preparation of Account Analyses for the PDP spending budget.
Other Misc. Responsibilities:
- Ad Hoc Reporting as requested
- Assist with Special Projects as requested
Education
- Associate degree; or equivalent plus three to five years of related Accounts Receivable experience and/or training.
Skills
- Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel, AS400 System.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Required

The pay range for this position Accounts Receivable Specialist is $24.50 to $34.31. However, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus depending on company performance.
