Job Summary
Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team.
The AR Specialist will be responsible for managing billing cycles, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations and contractual obligations. This mid-level role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in government contract billing and a working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint.
Work Location - Hybrid - This position has an onsite requirement of 2-3 days per week in one of the following locations with the remaining work days per week eligible to be worked remotely:
- Display, Networking, and Processing Center of Excellence - Johnstown, PA
- Sensors and Weapons Center of Excellence - Largo, FL
- Engineering Center of Excellence - Burnsville, MN
Work Hours/Schedule - 9/80 - Monday through Thursday from 7:30am - 5pm and every other Friday from 7:30am - 4pm
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit timely and accurate invoices using Deltek Costpoint in accordance with various government contract types (T&M, CPFF, FFP, etc.).
- Monitor and manage Accounts Receivable processes including aging reports, payment tracking, and follow-up with clients and government agencies
- Work closely with Program Managers, Contracts, and Finance teams to validate billing data and ensure alignment with contract requirements
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies or payment issues in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain accurate AR records and support documentation for audit readiness, including compliance with DCAA and FAR/DFARS
- Assist in month-end close processes, including AR reconciliations
- Generate and analyze AR-related reports to support financial planning and cash flow forecasting
- Support year-end financial audits as needed
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent training with 2+ years of directly related experience
- Familiarity with accounting and bookkeeping procedures is required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in accounts receivable, with at least 2 years in a government contracting environment
- Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and DCAA compliance standards
- Solid understanding of federal government contract types and billing requirements
- Experience with WAWF, MyInvoice, or other government payment portals
- Exposure to indirect rate application and contract funding analysis
- Knowledge of unbilled revenue processes and revenue recognition principles
- Proficient in Deltek Costpoint with hands-on experience in billing modules and AR reporting
The expected pay scale for this position if filled in our Burnsville, MN location is $39,993/year - $62,904/year. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly.
