Accounts Payable

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments to vendors, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in various accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Maintain the general ledger by recording journal entries and managing financial data.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits, adhering to GAAP standards.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth processing of invoices and payments.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Workday for data entry and reporting.
• Support payroll management tasks as needed, including data entry related to employee benefits administration.
• Conduct analysis of accounts payable metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Experience

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Paychex, ADP, PeopleSoft) is essential.
• Familiarity with SOX compliance and public accounting practices is preferred.
• Experience with double-entry bookkeeping and general ledger reconciliation is required.
• Knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, account reconciliation, and journal entries is necessary.
• Previous experience in corporate accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in data entry tasks.
