Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for managing the overall Accounts Receivable team while leading various management initiatives and systems implementation projects. This position provides for overall collection activities and the timely management of all AR aging components. The incumbent ensures compliance with the company’s Accounts Receivable standards and oversees a team of Accounts Receivable Specialists and Accounts Receivable Supervisors who are focused on managing credit risk and accounts receivable collections for the entire company.

Hiring Range: From $75,000 - $85,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fosters a learning culture using industry best practices and leveraging individual skills and aptitudes to ensure workforce and system optimization and department goals are achieved.
  • Provides leadership and guidance in the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Receivable department through the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, procedures, and controls that guide staff in executing their responsibilities.
  • Drives appropriate increases in collections, reduction in collection cycle times; and elimination of outstanding balances while initiating timely account audits that ensure maximum efforts have been taken before assigning bad-debt status or recommending a write-off.
  • Develops and mentors supervisors to provide a high level of service to our customers, both internal and external, maximizing customer satisfaction while mitigating credit risk and resolving disputes.
  • Provides oversight and guidance to supervisory staff in managing the performance management program and makes compensation and job progression recommendations in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Establishes collaborative relationships with Customer Service, Sales, Accounting, Operations and Management to reduce past due trade receivables in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Participates in development projects associated with acquisition integrations and billing/work order management applications.
  • Provides coaching, direction, and guidance to accounts receivable team members by effectively communicating, establishing clear goals and objectives, coaching team members on achieving goals, and ensuring access to training and development opportunities that assist employees in attaining the necessary skills to achieve team and company results.
  • Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales, and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.
  • Ensures compliance with all company, state, and federal policies, regulations, and laws regarding employment and employee safety.

Education, Experience & Qualifications

Successful candidates will have either a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related equivalent in education, training and experience with a Master’s Degree in leadership or related field preferred. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment. 5-7 years of progressive leadership and/or supervisory experience or 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting, banking and/or customer service preferred. Legally eligible to work in the US.
