Job Title: Aftercare Support Staff
Schedule:
School Year: Monday–Friday, 2:15 PM–6:00 PM
Summer Program: As needed, 8:30-4:00 PM
In-service Days: As needed, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Overview:
The Aftercare Support Staff provides a safe, calm, and engaging environment for children ages 18 months–18years old during the after-school hours. This role focuses on supervising children, facilitating activities, and creating a smooth, positive end to the school day. Ideal candidates are dependable, warm, flexible, and committed to fostering independence and respectful community interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with children in aftercare, ensuring safety and well-being at all times.
- Lead and support activities such as outdoor play, arts and crafts, games, and reading.
- Maintain a calm, respectful atmosphere consistent with Montessori principles.
- Encourage independence, peaceful problem-solving, and social connection.
- Monitor pick-up and keep accurate attendance records.
- Assist with light cleanup of the aftercare space.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with children, families, and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- At least 21 years old with a high school diploma (college coursework preferred).
- Experience working with children in a caregiving or educational setting.
- Ability to manage groups of children in a positive, supportive manner.
- Calm, consistent, and collaborative presence.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather and actively engage with children.

Compensation:
Hourly pay ranges from $14.25–$18.25/hr, based on experience, education, and certifications using a point-based pay scale.
