Lions Cheer Company is a long standing program of over 25 years, and is based at Gymnastics Etc. We offer All Star FUNdamentals, Novice, Prep, and Elite teams programs, as well as All Star Cheer 101, Cheer Tumbling, Flyer Training, and other specialty classes.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate coach to join our team. The ideal candidate would have a strong cheer background, with the ability to engage and motivate participants of all ages and skill levels. This role involves teaching recreational classes, as well as coaching all star cheer teams, primarily Level 1.
Potential candidates must be available a minimum of 2 weeknights (Mon-Thur) between 4pm and 9pm, plus have weekend availability for Sunday team practices, as well as traveling to competitions on weekends.
Responsibilities
- Conduct engaging classes that motivate athletes to reach their goals
- Conduct skill evaluations of class athletes to promote skill progression and celebrate their accomplishments
- Organize effective team practices that focus on preparing them for competition
- Examine team performances and scores from competitions to establish goals and practice plans
- Attend competitions with teams
- Work collaboratively with other staff to provide the best training possible
- Implement effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
- Ensure the safety of all athletes
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- USASF green light background check required
- Previous coaching or teaching experience is preferred
- Familiarity with all star rules, levels, skills, scoring, etc. is preferred
- Detail oriented and results driven
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with diverse groups of individuals.
