We are looking for a highly motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Butcher Shop Team Member!
Responsibilities:
* Prepare the shop daily, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for customers.
* Oversee daily meat department operations, including but not limited to:
* Receiving, inspecting, and rotating meat deliveries.
* Cutting, preparing, and labeling various cuts of meat according to our high standards.
* Maintaining a well-stocked display case with visually appealing cuts.
* Assisting other team members with butchering tasks as needed.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors, ensuring timely deliveries and top-quality products.
* Implement and enforce strict sanitation and food safety protocols.
* Communicate effectively with customers, answering questions, offering product recommendations, and providing exceptional customer service.
* Assist with closing procedures when scheduled.
* Maintain accurate inventory records and place orders for new stock.
* Clean and close shop down efficiently and effectively.
* Complete administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Prefer 1-3 years of experience in customer service and/or kitchen work or in a similar role.
* Strong understanding of safe food handling practices and sanitation procedures.
* Knowledge of knife skills and experience breaking down meat into various cuts is a plus.
* A passion for quality meats and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
* Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize effectively.
* Highly organized and detail-oriented with a focus on maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong work ethic with a commitment to reliability and punctuality.
* Must be trustworthy and self-motivated.
* Weekend availability is a must.

Schedule:
* Varied - As early as 9am. Stay as late as 8pm. Weekend availability is mandatory.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and manage the shop efficiently, while also being a team player who can collaborate with other staff members. They must be reliable and trustworthy, as they will be responsible for handling cash and inventory. Weekend availability is a must, as the shop is open seven days a week.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
