PROJECT ACCOUNTANT - Our Project Accountant will lead with integrity, efficiency, follow-though, and with years of construction, financial, and administrative support experience. These individuals ensure that all estimated construction costs are tracked and managed, administer subcontracts, track insurance certificates and lien waivers, as well as process pay applications, invoices, and purchase orders. They enjoy planning travel, organizing projects, managing workflow, and creating efficiencies for the teams in the field while offering direct support to the Project Manager.
Position Requirements:
· 3 + years of relevant work experience
· Experience in construction and accounting software
· Experience in the construction industry and job cost accounting a plus
· Strong financial aptitude and attention to detail
· Results-oriented with proven ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; communicates effectively with management, employees, customers and subcontractors/vendors
· High level of motivation, integrity, and commitment to teamwork
· Strong work ethic with an unwavering commitment to quality and professional work
Project Accountant Duty Requirements:
· Client Expectations – Understands and adjusts to each individual client (client PMs, space management, store setup, construction directors, store managers, department, managers, architects, engineers, etc.) Understands needs and reason for project. Understands current operations or environment (open facilities, open pharmacy’s, open checkouts, etc.) Understand programs, client processes, and dates;
· Travel – Arranges travel, accommodations, and vehicle rentals for self and team members as needed per project and within budget;
· Job Site/Progress/Scheduling – Ensures projects meet all scheduling milestones set by clients, Septon sales, and by the Septon executive team. Assists Project Manager with initial schedules, plans tool requirements, schedule monitoring, initiates manpower/materials adjustments, and offers consistent, positive communication with all project stake-holders regarding schedule changes and site updates;
· Safety – Assists Project Manager with safety compliance and incorporates safety knowledge into all planning and management activities;
· Contracts/Purchase Orders – Assists Project manager with sourcing the best possible process from material suppliers and sub-contractors and negotiates pricing and scope to ensure coverage. Communicates with Project Manager to obtain approvals to purchase orders;
· Insurance – Collect and track insurance records and ensure that all subcontractors are properly insured and licensed prior to start and throughout duration of the project.
· Change Orders/CO Approvals – Creates proposal requests and obtains required approvals from Project Manager;
· Payment Applications – Collect monthly subcontractor payment applications, review for accuracy, and prepare for Project Manager review;
· Owner Billings – Assist the Project Manager in the monthly owner billings based on required backup and the owner/contract;
· Lien Waivers – Track lien waivers and joint check agreements to ensure that any supplier liabilities are met at the time of Subcontractor payment;
· General Invoicing/Purchase Orders – Collect and review all invoices and match with vendor PO’s when appropriate;
· Reporting – Assists Project Manager with scheduled internal project status updates and daily/weekly status reports to clients and appropriate stake-holders;
· Punch & Client Walks – Assist Project Manager with scheduling of internal and client punch walks. Assists with communication regarding completion of all punch list items with Septon team members and sub-contractors prior to final client walk and sign-off, conducted by Project Manager;
· Managing – Ensures daily logs and photos are completed by field team members, manages process for ensuring field team members have all documents, folders and supplies needed to be successful at the start of each project;
· Presentations – Creates PowerPoint and photo presentations for clients at the close of each project.
· Other duties as determined and needed; contributing to a motivated, goal-oriented, and collaborative team environment.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
