Key Responsibilities:
Perform hands-on work in installation, maintenance, and repair of water and sewer lines.
Use and maintain tools and construction equipment specific to water infrastructure.
- Rotate between various assignments based on operational needs—you won’t be locked into one task or section.
- Follow all City safety and OSHA guidelines, including work zone safety procedures.
- Respond to emergency situations as part of an on-call rotation and be available for overtime and after-hours work when needed.
- Communicate effectively and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Maintain a reliable means of contact (home or cell phone) for scheduling and emergencies.
- The job is NON-EXEMPT under FLSA.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for dependable, hardworking individuals with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work well both independently and on a team.
Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment (both small and large)
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Good physical stamina and willingness to work in all weather conditions
- Commitment to timely, clear communication
- Previous experience in utilities or construction is a plus
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED
- "OR" an equivalent combination of 3 years of education plus 3 years of directly related experience in a construction environment
- Valid Class B Driver's License ("OR" the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date to maintain position)
- 1-year experience working in all weather conditions, construction, utilities, and maintenance environment
