Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic IT team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels in database management, optimization, and security in a healthcare setting. You will be responsible for the maintenance, performance, and reliability of critical databases that support essential operations across the enterprise.
This position offers flexible options for both full-time and part-time availability and supports hybrid work arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
Design, install, configure, and maintain enterprise-level databases.
Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
Ensure database security, integrity, stability, and system availability.
Develop and maintain documentation related to database configuration, processes, and service records.
Implement backup and recovery procedures and test for disaster recovery readiness.
Support integration and data migration for new and existing systems.
Work collaboratively with developers, IT staff, and stakeholders to support data-driven initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in the healthcare or technology sector.
Proven experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or other major RDBMS platforms.
Strong knowledge of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
Experience with performance tuning, backup/recovery strategies, and security configurations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
Experience with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) is a plus.
Cloud-based database experience (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, etc.).
Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.).
What We Offer
Salary Range: $105,000 – $110,000 annually
Flexible Work Options: Full-time and Part-time available; hybrid (remote & in-office)
