A.N.A.'s Friends is a nonprofit organization committed to uplifting the voices and meeting the needs of abused, neglected, and abandoned children across Southwest Florida. Through a combination of advocacy, resources, and heartfelt support, we help children navigate the challenges of the dependency court system and reclaim the joys of childhood.
We are seeking a self-motivated fundraising professional to step into a newly created leadership role. As our Development Director, you’ll lead the charge in building and strengthening our fundraising initiatives. This is not a training role—this is an opportunity for a confident, creative, and driven individual who thrives on ownership, impact, and purpose. You’ll have the full support of the CEO, Board, and a growing network of donors and partners, but we need someone who can independently build and execute strategy from day one.
What You’ll Do:
Fund Development & Strategy
- Develop and implement strategic, multi-channel fundraising plans, including a new monthly giving program, to meet and exceed annual revenue targets.
- Build and manage a development calendar and pipeline, including grants, individual giving, and corporate sponsorships.
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities aligned with our mission.
- Develop and manage strategies for major gifts and planned giving programs, including donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Support or lead any future capital campaign efforts, working closely with the CEO and Board to secure transformational gifts.
Grant Writing & Management
- Independently write and manage compelling grant proposals and reports for private, corporate, and government funders.
- Track deadlines and ensure timely, accurate submissions and compliance.
Communications & Brand Visibility
- Work with our Communications Manager to craft communications, including messaging, digital content, newsletters, press, and marketing materials.
- Help to maintain a dynamic online presence that reflects our mission and engages our community.
Donor Relations & Stewardship
- Build strong, lasting relationships with donors—individuals, foundations, and businesses alike.
- Lead donor stewardship, gift acknowledgment, and impact reporting.
Event Leadership & Community Engagement
- Plan and execute fundraising and awareness events with the support of staff and volunteers.
- Represent A.N.A.'s Friends at public events and community forums.
Collaborative Leadership
- Partner with the CEO, Board, and program staff to align messaging and priorities.
- Supervise development and communications interns or staff as the team grows.
- Prepare regular development reports for the CEO and Board of Directors, offering strategic insights into fundraising progress and donor trends.
Who You Are
- A proactive and experienced development professional with at least 5 years of nonprofit fundraising and communications experience.
- A strong writer and strategist with a proven record of securing grants and growing donor bases.
- Skilled in digital communications, including social media, website content, and marketing tools.
- A strong communicator who thrives in both collaborative and independent work.
- A mission-driven leader who understands the unique demands of a small but growing nonprofit.
- Proficiency in CRM and donor management software systems with a strong understanding of data tracking and donor segmentation.
- Experience with direct mail fundraising campaigns, including message development and donor targeting.
Hours & Compensation
This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week, with occasional evenings and weekends required for special events and outreach activities.
We offer a competitive salary of $65,000–$75,000 annually, along with a supportive and mission-driven work environment where your voice and impact matter.
Benefits include:
