Responsible for the sales, service, and administrative activities and relationship management to prospective and existing accounts. Customarily and regularly engaged in outside sales.
We are looking for an individual with preferably 5+ years industry medical and/or pharmacy sales experience in 250+ employee market. As well as experience with consultative sales, presentation, prospecting, relationship development, self-starter, time management and organization. Travel is required. Open to Candidates in Columbia, SC (preferred), Greenville, SC or Charlotte, NC.

Position Purpose:
Responsible for development of new national account customer sales in South Carolina as well as nationally with Second Blue Bid. Additionally, responsible for the sales, service, administrative activities, and relationship management to prospective customers and brokers/consultants. Customarily and regularly engaged in outside sales.
Logistics: BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, Percival Road location.
Location: This is a full-time position working (40-hours/week) in a typical office environment. You will work an 8-hour shift scheduled during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need to work occasional overtime. You may be required to travel between buildings. This role is located at: 4101 Percival Road Columbia, SC 29229
What You Will Do:
Responsible for development of new account sales. May work with marketing area to execute marketing strategy for new business in assigned territory/relationship network. Compiles, approves and delivers presentations and presents proposal packages for new groups. Works with Underwriting for rate and fee development. Obtains client signoff on administrative service agreements.
Responsible for Relationships with Consultants and Brokers. Maintains strong service relationships with consultants and agents. Research/compiles capabilities presentations and sales materials as needed. Coordinates client and agent input into renewal process.
Responsible for assigned Product Development and Sales. May work in conjunction with internal department in developing solutions for providers. Provides data and analysis to aid in product design and financial arrangements with Providers and self-insured clients.
To Qualify for This Position, You Will Need:
Bachelors in a job-related field
Degree Equivalency: 4 years job related work experience or Associate's and 2 years job related work experience
7 years healthcare insurance/program management, customer service, and/or technology-related industry. 2 of the 7 years must have been in direct sales and marketing role in one or more of the areas listed.
Knowledge of sales principles and techniques.
Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively and make sound decisions. Good judgment skills.
Effective customer service, presentation and organizational skills.
Analytical or critical thinking skills.
Advanced accounting proficiency.
Software and Other Tools: Microsoft Office
Licenses and Certificates: Department of Insurance Licensure must be obtained within 60 days of hire in state employed.
