Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Director of Consulting Services to build and lead our consulting and managed services practice from the ground up. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in pharmaceutical commercial compliance, a strong professional network, and a willingness to engage directly in project execution while establishing the team, processes, and client base needed to scale the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop a practical growth strategy for consulting services, focusing on building an initial book of business and establishing the operational foundation for a scalable practice.
- Business Development: Proactively leverage personal networks and direct outreach to secure early engagements. Actively sell consulting services in collaboration with sales and marketing. Leverage existing industry relationships and networks to identify and secure new consulting opportunities. Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to promote service offerings.
- Client Engagement: Serve as the lead consultant and client liaison, delivering high-quality services and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Service Delivery: Deliver projects personally or with a small team of contractors until the business justifies scaling. Create repeatable processes to support growth.
- Team Building: Hire and mentor junior staff or contractors as needed, developing a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies. Collaborate with marketing, with a primary focus on client delivery and growth. Represent Cresen Solutions at industry events, conferences, and forums.
- Financial Management: Establish and monitor project budgets and contribute to the financial performance of the consulting division. Ensure consulting engagements are profitable and align with Cresen Solutions' overall financial goals.
- Process Development: Develop and implement consulting delivery frameworks, methodologies, and internal processes to ensure consistency and scalability as the division grows.
- Collaboration with Sales and Marketing: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop and refine marketing materials, case studies, and thought leadership content that support the consulting and managed services offerings.
- Performance Management: Define and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the consulting division, including project success rates, client satisfaction, and business development pipeline.
- Technology Integration: Collaborate with product and technology teams to integrate AI-driven solutions into consulting services, ensuring alignment with Cresen Solutions’ overall technology strategy and offerings.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, JD) are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years in pharmaceutical commercial compliance, with experience directly delivering consulting engagements; with at least 3-5 years of growth-focused leadership is a plus.
- Expertise: In-depth knowledge of healthcare engagements, risk assessment, monitoring, global transparency regulations, and AI applications in compliance.
- Network: Established relationships within the pharmaceutical industry, including compliance officers, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
- Adaptability: Proven track record of building practices from scratch or in early-stage environments; comfortable wearing multiple hats and developing systems and processes on the fly.
