Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation activities, ensuring timely delivery of freight, and maintaining effective communication with drivers and clients. This role requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in various transportation management systems to optimize logistics operations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule transportation activities using GIS and GPS technologies.
- Manage dispatching operations, ensuring efficient routing and timely delivery of freight.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) PortPro.
- Analyze data related to supply chain logistics to improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records through data entry and manage shipping & receiving processes.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and other stakeholders using multi-line phone systems.
- Oversee fleet management to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
- Provide excellent customer service through effective phone etiquette and communication skills.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dispatching or logistics management.
- Strong knowledge of transportation planning, supply chain processes, and freight operations.
- Proficiency in using GIS, GPS, Oracle Transportation Management, AS400, and other relevant software.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong typing skills and attention to detail for accurate data entry.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate clear interactions with team members and clients.
