The Department of Social Services is seeking highly motivated, dependable professionals with advanced communication and exceptional customer service skills for the Food and Nutrition Recertification Services.
Distinguishing Features
The successful candidate will lead and mentor Eligibility Specialist caseworkers in the Economic Services Division of Forsyth County Department of Social Services.

Minimum Education and Experience
Graduation from high school or GED and three years of paraprofessional, clerical or other public contact experience which may include negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling data, analyzing data and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks.
Required: Two years of experience in an income maintenance program (prefer Food and Nutrition) may substitute for two of the three years of relevant experience.
A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.
Ability to type 45 works per minute (or faster) is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work includes training and mentoring Income Maintenance Case workers on county policy and procedures, assisting employees and customers with inquiries, copies, checking agency mail, covering a caseload, processing cases, or providing assistance regarding Food and Nutrition Recertification Services or Applications programs.
The person in these positions is responsible for monitoring and managing the assigned Team in Food & Nutrition Services Recertifications in the absence of the Supervisor.
The successful candidate must be able to interpret complex rules and regulations and use good judgment to make appropriate eligibility decisions.
They must have exceptional organizational skills, the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, the ability to work quickly within deadlines, have a basic knowledge of universal computer technology and general office equipment, and be able to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Must have Proficiency in widely used computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, within both Microsoft Office and Office 365 environments. Experienced in using cloud-based collaboration tools, managing shared documents, scheduling meetings, and maintaining digital file systems. Skilled in operating standard office equipment such as multi-function printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines, and phone systems. Thrive in fast paced, team-oriented settings that require strong communication, organization, and adaptability.
