Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, consistent bar service at a range of event types, from weddings to corporate gatherings.
- Assess guests' needs and preferences, making recommendations that enhance their event experience.
- Set up and maintain cleanliness of bar areas before, during, and after events, ensuring a tidy and safe environment.
- Check guests' identification to confirm it meets legal drinking age requirements.
- At peak times, serve beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages to guests.
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies as needed.
- Process payment transactions and tip reporting.
- Handle glassware and bar tools with care and professionalism.
- Work closely with event coordinators and catering staff to ensure cohesive service.
Qualifications:
- Proven working experience as a barback with a solid reference track record.
- Excellent knowledge of food, wine, and cocktails.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked, and clean.
- Ability to work cohesively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
- Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) and ABC training certificates.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in a catering or events setting.
- Flexibility to work in various locations and adapt to different event styles.
- Capability to perform efficiently under pressure.
- Required uniform is the standard black bistro: a black long-sleeved button-down ironed/pressed shirt, black vest, black tie, black slacks (no leggings/no jeans), black belt, black socks, and black non-slip shoes.
