Job Description:
GrayBarns on the Silvermine River is seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven Event Director to join our team. This role is integral to driving new business, enhancing client relationships, and elevating the sales potential of our premier hospitality venue. The Event Director will lead the charge in creating memorable event experiences while overseeing the planning, execution, and strategic sales efforts. Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
- Drive revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new sales opportunities across various sectors (corporate, weddings, private events).
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure repeat business and maximize sales potential.
- Develop a sales strategy for targeting key client segments, optimizing lead generation, and increasing event bookings.
Client Outreach & Networking:
- Proactively engage with prospective clients through targeted outreach, attending industry events, and leveraging your network to generate leads.
- Close sales by effectively pitching customized event packages that align with client needs and budgets.
- Nurture long-term partnerships with corporate clients, vendors, and local businesses to secure recurring events.
Custom Event Package Development:
- Collaborate with internal teams to design and sell tailored event packages that align with client preferences, event themes, and seasonal trends.
- Utilize your creativity and sales expertise to craft unique, high-value experiences that set GrayBarns apart from competitors.
Menu Co-Creation with F&B Team:
- Partner with the F&B team to co-create customized event menus that align with client preferences, seasonal ingredients, and event themes, ensuring a memorable culinary experience.
- Collaborate on designing unique dining options that meet client expectations and fit within the event budget.
Sales Reporting & Metrics:
- Provide senior leadership with weekly sales reports, tracking pipeline status, event leads, conversion rates, and overall revenue performance.
- Implement sales goals and performance metrics to ensure growth targets are consistently met.
Market Research & Trend Analysis:
- Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer feedback to refine event offerings and enhance sales strategies.
- Use market insights to anticipate client needs and propose innovative event solutions that generate additional sales opportunities.
Run of Show & Execution:
- Oversee the creation of detailed run of show documents that ensure flawless event execution while also identifying upsell opportunities (e.g., additional services, upgrades, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with the team to ensure event details are meticulously coordinated and executed on time.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven sales experience in event management, hospitality, or a related field (5+ years preferred).
- A strong track record of sales success, with experience in client acquisition, pipeline management, and achieving revenue targets.
- Expertise in event management software and CRM platforms to track leads, manage sales, and streamline communications.
- Exceptional negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to sell high-end, customized event packages.
- Strong leadership, communication, and networking skills, with a focus on building and maintaining long-term client relationships.
- Creative problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of client needs.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple events and sales efforts simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
