We are currently seeking an experienced GM Parts Manager who will be responsible for effectively managing our parts inventory and overseeing the operations of our parts department.
Job Description: As the Experienced GM Parts Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our parts department. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the parts inventory, implementing effective inventory control procedures, and overseeing the day-to-day processes of the department. You will be expected to lead a team of parts specialists, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategies to optimize parts inventory levels, ensuring an adequate supply of parts while minimizing excess stock.
- Implement and maintain effective inventory control processes, including regular audits, cycle counts, and accurate tracking of stock levels.
- Collaborate with the service and sales departments to identify and fulfill parts needs efficiently and timely.
- Supervise and provide guidance to a team of parts specialists, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of parts orders, including sourcing, pricing, and invoicing.
- Monitor and analyze parts sales data to identify trends, increase profitability, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating favorable pricing, and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, product developments, and changes in GM parts catalog.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and promote a safe working environment within the parts department.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Parts Manager within a GM dealership or automotive parts environment is required.
- Solid understanding of inventory management principles and experience in implementing effective inventory control procedures.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using computerized inventory management systems and MS Office Suite.
- In-depth knowledge of GM parts and accessories, including part numbers, compatibility, and pricing.
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
