About the Role
Aivirtrix is seeking an exceptional Financial Controller to join an innovative and mission-driven company that’s revolutionizing zero-emission freight transportation. This is not a traditional desk-bound accounting role—it demands an agile, hands-on leader who’s equally at home in spreadsheets, automation tools, and field operations.
In this role, you will design and lead a lean financial and operational backbone, drive automation, and implement scalable systems across accounting, finance, and operational workflows. You’ll be a trusted partner to the President and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete accounting cycle: GL, AP/AR, month-end close, reconciliations, and compliance
- Build financial models, dashboards, and real-time reports using Excel or Google Sheets
- Implement and manage automation platforms and AI tools to improve finance workflows
- Engage directly with field operations to map processes and identify inefficiencies
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management initiatives
- Establish scalable financial controls and lean operational practices
- Evaluate and oversee the outsourcing or automation of repetitive finance-related tasks
- Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning and profitability analysis
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Progressive experience in accounting and finance
- Highly proficient in Excel/Google Sheets (can build financial models from scratch)
- Exposure to AI tools, automation software, and low/no-code platforms
- Strong grasp of operational processes and business workflows
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work with both front-line staff and the C-suite
- Proven ability to drive system-level changes and process digitization
- Familiarity with designing and managing offshore financial or support teams
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications (Bonus)
- CPA and/or MBA
- Experience in startup or venture-backed environments
- Industry knowledge in transportation, clean tech, energy, or operations-heavy businesses
- Past experience in offshore process migration or AI/ERP implementation
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $140,000 – $180,000/year, based on experience
